Psyllium Husk has been shown to increase faecal mass by up to 100% by retaining water in the stool and it has long been used for constipation and diarrhoea.
Psyllium Husk is a natural remedy for anal gland problems.

Veterinarians often recommend psyllium for dogs to treat digestion issues including constipation and very runny diarrhoea. In some cases, it can also help dogs suffering from irritable bowel syndrome. Its dietary fibre works by absorbing water in the intestine and helping the animal poop on a more regular schedule.

The psyllium husks expand when they come into contact with water (in the food or in the digestive tract), which forms a sort of gelatinous mass. If a stool is too loose, then the product helps to absorb some of the moisture in order to help create a healthier stool. In case of constipation, the product helps the bowel to contract, providing more volume to the stool. The stool will also become softer so that there is a reduced chance of irritation of the anus.
Besides providing a healthier stool, Psyllium may also help related intestinal irritation. Scientific studies show that hairballs in the stomachs of cats (and possibly dogs) can be removed naturally with the aid of Psyllium. Adding Psyllium can promotes a healthy bowel function.

Drug interactions: none proven but consult your veterinarian if medically dosing as with all herbs

Suggested Feeding Amounts

Optimally give twice daily:
Dogs and cats < 10 kg, 1/2 to 1 teaspoon twice daily
• Dogs 10-25 kg, 1 - 2 teaspoons twice daily
• Dogs > 25 kg, 1.5 to 2 teaspoons twice daily


1/2 teaspoon per 5kg of body weight twice a day

As we are a working shop there may be occasions where something you order has been purchased by a customer in store. On these occasions we will replace that product with another brand of the same protein or another protein that you have ordered. If it is not possible to give a replacement, a refund will be issued for the item.

All discrepancies must be reported within 24 hours of you receiving your delivery. Please email hello@tillystreatcupboard.co.uk in the first instance.

Refunds are only given on proof of faulty goods.

We do not deliver locally on Friday, Saturday or Sunday.

Raw (frozen) food will be left unless the weather is very hot (we will contact you if we need to reorganise delivery due to the weather).

You are welcome to leave a ice box or cool bag in which we can leave your frozen goods.
Regular customers often leave a labelled or named cool bag which we can take with us and deliver the next order in.

We offer no compensation for food that has thawed - if this is a concern, please feel free to collect the food from our store.

Once your order is placed, it will usually be ready to collect in 2 hours.

You should receive a notification when your order is ready to collect.

Orders received before 3pm Monday to Saturday and 1pm on Sunday will be available for collection the same day.

Collection is from our store at 171 Moorwell Road, Scunthorpe, DN17 2SX during store opening hours. Please bring your order confirmation when collecting your order.
